Remediation Payment Program

Acknowledge Education Pty Ltd (Acknowledge Education) has identified that certain current and former employees were not paid with the appropriate minimum entitlements under the Educational Services ((Post-Secondary Education) Award.

Acknowledge Education takes its obligations to its employees seriously and is disappointed that it has let some of its employees down in relation to their entitlements. Acknowledge Education is sincerely apologetic that these issues have arisen and is committed to addressing them expeditiously.

All affected employees will be repaid the amount of minimum entitlements underpaid under the Award with interest, and any superannuation contributions in relation to the underpayment with interest. A full review of General Staff, Academic Teachers, and Teachers & Tutors pay rates was undertaken. This review included Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual employees. Acknowledge Education proactively engaged Minter Ellison and Deloitte to assist with the review and subsequent remediation process.

This process identified that certain Acknowledge Education current employees (175) and former employees (457) who were engaged under the Award during the period 17 July 2016 – 8 January 2023 were impacted by the issue.

Acknowledge Education has begun informing impacted current employees about the issue and the remediation result.  Once this is complete, former impacted employees will be contacted.  It is expected that the majority of payments will be complete by the end of the 2023 calendar year.

Acknowledge Education is committed to rectifying the issue promptly and has taken steps to ensure it never occurs again.
